CJ’S STYLE GUIDES
Find your fit across different brands
A size label is a starting point. Comfort and measurements tell you more.
Use the retailer’s own chart
Compare your current measurements with the size chart for that brand and garment. Different brands can use the same label for different measurements. Look for garment measurements when available.
Consider fabric and movement
Check whether the garment stretches, has a lining, or uses an adjustable fastening. Think about how it should feel when you sit and move. A close fit and a relaxed fit serve different preferences.
Check length as well as width
Sleeve, rise, inseam and dress length can change how a piece feels. Compare the listed length with a garment you already like. Model photographs may not show how the same length sits on you.
Give yourself options
Read exchange and return details before buying. Your body does not need to change to suit a size label; look for clothes that suit your comfort and the way you want to wear them.
